The 11th annual 1,500m Night will take place on Sunday, June 16th at TD Stadium in London. Nationally known as the deepest middle distance meet in Canada, 1,500m Night is hosted annually on the first available weekend after the OFSAA high school championships - perfect timing for young athletes who are new to the sport to experience the incredible atmosphere that has been developed over the past decade plus of London Distance Series races. The huge fields provide exceptional racing opportunities for all levels of runners from local youngsters and masters all the way to top national level athletes.
To encourage new participation and facilitate access to all London area runners, the host club (London Runner) has offered an unprecedented 50 free entries to local runners. The goal is to provide a racing opportunity to runners who have not yet experienced such an event and ensure that the cost of entry is not prohibitive by removing both the entry fee and covering the one day Athletics Ontario insurance fee for each of these participants. There is no age or ability restriction on this offer.
To receive free entry to 1,500m Night, all of the following conditions must be met:
1) runner has never participated in 1,500m Night before
2) runner is not currently training or registered with a track club
3) runner (or parent) emails race director Steve Weiler (steveweiler@hotmail.com) confirming above conditions are met and requesting free entry by midnight on Sunday, June 9th.
